It is a good idea to get the H1B approval ASAP and look for a new project and file an Amendment for the new Project once you get. You must file an Amendment as soon as you leave this project. If you leave the project and there is a USCIS site visit, you may risk losing the H1B Status from Day one. You may be able to use the 60 day grace period if your H1B Employer Terminates your Job.
